and took part in the following

He was shot through the cheek during a hot skirmish December
13, 1862.
At the Battle of Wilderness he was captured by the Rebels and confined
at
different times in rebel prisons at Danville, Florence, Andersonville, and
Libby Prisons.
He was exchanged March 6, 1865 and mustered out August 10, 1865.
Member
of Grand Army of the Republic.
He died from disease contracted during his stay
in rebel prisons.
