Background
*Theodore Ferguson participated in the 1893? Oklahoma Land Rush.
He was Sheriff of Ripley, Oklahoma.
On one occasion he interupted a bank robbery in progress.
One robber fired at him and he returned fire killing the robber.
When the robber was unmasked, it was a woman.
This was so dreadful and unacceptable in those times that he
resigned his post and moved away to Cushing, Oklahoma.
